The judges for Future Stars Festival 2020, have been specially selected as some of the very best actors, singers and dancers in the industry. Check out their credentials below.

Judges will be gradually announced over the course of the week from Monday 29th June to Sunday 5th July 2020.

FUTURE ACTOR JUDGE

CHARLEY WEBB

Charley Webb has played Debbie Dingle in ITV soap opera, Emmerdale, for almost 20 years. Charley was just 14-years-old when she joined the popular Yorkshire-based soap and has never looked back. Charley is a brilliant dramatic actress and we are delighted to have such a prominent Yorkshire actress on our judging panel.

 

Charley Webb will be judging the Future Actor category.

FUTURE ACTOR JUDGE

MATTHEW WOLFENDEN

 

If you are a regular watcher of British TV then you’re bound to know Matthew Wolfenden. Matthew is most well known for his role as David Metcalfe on ITV soap opera, Emmerdale, since joining in 2007.

 

Matthew often appears on other popular TV programmes too. He was crowned ‘King of the Ice’ when Matthew won the seventh series of ‘Dancing On Ice’. He also competed on the TV programme Soapstar Superstar in early 2007, and in 2015, Matthew appeared in a celebrity special of The Chase, beating the chaser to the finish line and winning £5500 for his chosen charity, Speak Up, a charity for adults with learning disabilities.

 

Matthew will be judging the Future Actor category.

FUTURE MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMER JUDGE

JODIE STEELE

 

If you have been keeping your eyes on the West End and UK theatre scene over the past few years then you will have no doubt seen Jodie Steele flying high and making a huge name for herself. Jodie is a talented force to be reckoned with and is currently playing Katherine Howard in the UK Tour of the smash-hit musical, Six. Most notably, Jodie played queen-bee Heather Chandler in the West End revival of ‘Heathers: The Musical’ alongside Carrie Hope Fletcher. 

Other credits include: Sherrie in Rock of Ages (UK Tour), Elphaba in Wicked (UK & International Tour), Margot in Legally Blonde, Carmen in Fame (UK Tour) to name a few.

 

Jodie will be judging the Future Musical Theatre Performer category.

FUTURE POP STAR JUDGE

LUKE BAYER

 

Luke Bayer has an extensive background in pop music, on top of his career in the theatre. Luke made it to the final 6 boys in the 2007 series of The X Factor at just 14-years-old. He now has his own YouTube channel posting regular covers of pop and musical theatre songs, amassing over 200,000 views, and has 20,000 followers on Instagram who keenly tune in for his singing videos.

 

Luke Bayer not only has a fantastic pop background but he is also currently taking London’s West End by storm. Luke played Alternate Jamie in the Original West End Cast of ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’, winning a BroadwayWorld Award for his performance. During his time as Jamie he has performed on Children In Need, at West End Live 2018, and at Pride in London.

 

Most recently, Luke appeared as Robbie in Soho Cinders at the Charing Cross Theatre, London, and as Man 2 in FIVER at the Southwark Playhouse, for which he won a West End Wilma Award. Luke has sung in concert with Shoshana Bean, Natalie Weiss and Scott Alan.

 

Luke Bayer will be judging the Future Pop-Artist category.

FUTURE CHOREOGRAPHER JUDGE

ASHLEY JOHNSON

Who better to judge our Future Choreographer category than a professional choreographer themselves? Ashley Johnson is a professional dancer and choreographer, originally from Harrogate. After training at the Bodywork Company Dance Studios, Ashley has gone on to work on numerous professional productions both as a dancer and choreographer.

FUTURE SINGER-SONGWRITER JUDGE

ASHFORD CAMPBELL

 

Ashford Campbell is a singer and performer from Yorkshire who has both lit up our TV screens and the West End stage over the years.

 

Ashford was part of boyband THE RISK in the 2011 series of The X Factor, making it through to the live shows on ITV1. The band were voted out in week five and the following year went on to perform in The X factor Live Arena Tour along with the series winners, Little Mix. In 2013, THE RISK also supported Peter Andrew on his ‘Up Close & Peronsl’ UK Tour.

 

Since his X factor days, Ashford has moved to London’s West End, appearing as Dwayne Rhodes in 9 to 5 at the Savoy Theatre, Little Albert in Dreamgirls at the Savoy Theatre, and in Beautiful at the Aldwych Theatre. Other credits include playing Seaweed in Hairspray and performing as Lead Vocalist for Carnival Cruise Lines.

 

Ashford Campbell will be judging the Singer-Songwriter category.

OVER-21 ADULT STAR PERFORMER JUDGE

LOTTIE HENSHALL

 

If you’re a keen viewer of ITV soap Coronation Street then you are bound to recognise Lottie Henshall as the trouble-making villain, Jade, who recently came into the programme to stir up trouble for long-time characters Fiz and Tyrone.

 

Originally from Wakefield, Lottie is a talented actress who has been a part of the local dramatic scene in Yorkshire long before making it to the big time. Before Coronation Street, Lottie toured the UK with the musical ‘Mammia Mia!’ as Lisa, and was in the UK Tour of ‘Our House’. Other TV credits include playing Jenna O-Brien on an episode of Doctors.

 

Lottie Henshall will be judging the Over-21s Adult Star Performer category.
